DEL RIO – A woman was arrested by the Del Rio Police Department in connection with the Pronto Insurance burglary occurring on June 6, 2016. Elizabeth Fraustro Alcaraz, 31-years-of-age, was taken into custody on Friday, July 15, and transferred to the Val Verde County Corrections facility where she is facing charges for theft of property.

Sgt. Robert Zaragoza, spokesman for the Del Rio Police Department, said the woman, a former employee of Pronto Insurance, was identified by surveillance footage along with a male subject, who was wearing a mask at the time of the burglary, and who as of press time remains at large.

Pronto Insurance reported $8,378.32 missing after the burglary. The cash was kept at the office, located at 405 E. Gibbs, and was not in a safe, according to the police report.

In a statement to investigators, Fraustro Alcaraz confessed to taking $2,000 from her former employer, according to the Del Rio Police Department. She is facing charges for theft of property more than $750 and less than $2,500. The case is still under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.
