Washington, D.C. – Latino Victory Fund today endorsed Jay Hulings for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District, which stretches across southwestern Texas and spans one third of the U.S.-Mexico border. Hulings’ knowledge of the Texas border region sets him apart from the field and makes him the most qualified Democratic candidate. He has served as legal counsel to the House Intelligence Committee under Representative Silvestre Reyes and an Assistant U.S. Attorney in San Antonio and Del Rio under President Obama.

Hulings is seeking to unseat Republican incumbent Will Hurd to represent a district that is sixty percent Latino.

“Jay Hulings is a tested leader with a strong commitment to transparency and good governance. Having taken on corrupt politicians and powerful cartel leaders, he has what it takes to stand up to President Trump and his cronies,” said Cristobal J. Alex, president of Latino Victory Fund. “As our community is attacked from the highest office in the land, we need Latino leaders like Jay on our side.”

“I'm so honored to have the support of the Latino Victory Fund, an organization committed to making sure Latino voices are heard at every level of government,” said Jay Hulings.  “I look forward to being part of this movement and fighting for issues that are important to the Latino Community, such as equal access to healthcare, the opportunity for a good education, and a strong economy.”
