Conexión Del Rio/ Staff report

DEL RIO – The candidate filing period for the May 5, 2018 San Felipe Del Rio CISD School Board of Trustee Election begins Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 8:00 a.m., according to the election calendar set by the Texas Secretary of State.  The last day to file a completed application is Friday, February 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.  Persons interested in becoming a candidate for the San Felipe Del Rio CISD School Board may pick up a packet in the Superintendent’s office in the SFDRCISD Student Performance and Administration Building located at 315 Griner St.  The candidate’s packet contains instructions, an application, and forms required for filing.  The application, forms, and instructions are also available online through the Secretary of State and State Ethics Commission websites.

Notice of deadline to file application is January 17.

The SFDRCISD Board of Trustees is comprised of community members who are elected at-large for four-year terms.  (Board Policy BBB (LOCAL)) School Board elections will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, for the following positions:

1. Place I Currently held by Kenneth Smith

2. Place III Currently held by Cecilia Martinez-Lozano

3. Place IV Currently held by Raymond Meza 

4. Place V Currently held by Roberto Chavira

To be eligible for, or elected or appointed to, the office of Trustee, a person must meet the eligibility requirements identified in accordance with Board Policy BBA(LEGAL).
