DEL RIO –The Val Verde County Sports Complex is starting to come into focus after being under discussion for quite a while.

Conexión Del Rio interviewed Precinct 3 County Commissioner, Beau Nettleton, who stated that the Sports Complex will be a huge asset to the community.

“It’s going to give our children a nice quality place to play, plus give our children the ability to bring some of the tournaments here instead of have to travel all over the state.” “The Sports Complex also benefits the City economically and is something that the community has needed for a long time,” stated Commissioner, Nettleton.

Nettleton says the County had discussed it for a long time and finally got it going once a Master Plan was completed, followed by an engineering firm which was chosen.

A bond election is expected to take place in November to fund a portion of it “to do it in pieces as to what the community can afford to do a little at a time until we get the whole thing built,” said Commissioner, Nettleton.

The Master Plan is expected to be a 30-year project, concluded Nettleton.
