"Rudy uses his passion for healthy living to inspire others in his personal life and in FCCLA" says his advisor, Linda Corbell.  His project called Nutricize included a health and body analysis as well as detailed meal plans using the MyPlate.go as a basis for the nutrition and a targeted workout schedule for a period of 8 months.

In January, Rudy competed at the FCCLA regional level and placed first and qualified to compete at the state level in April.  He qualified for national STAR Events by scoring nearly perfectly at each level.

"Representing Texas FCCLA at the National FCCLA Competition in Nashville Tennessee is an honor and has been a very rewarding experience for Rudy who won a Gold medal and achieved the highest score in the nation.  He has worked hard all year long on his FCCLA Nutricize project and the judges saw that!" said Corbell.
