DEL RIO,TX–BCFS Health and Human Services-Del Rio invites the community for an evening of family fun with their Movie Under the Stars event on Friday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at Del Rio’s Greenwood Park. Admission to the event is free with a donation of nonperishable food items. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to cozy up and enjoy the film “Sing,” an animated movie from the creators of “Despicable Me” about animals that enter a singing competition. Free hot dogs, popsicles, popcorn and drinks will be served.

Movie starts at 8 p.m.
Several lucky moviegoers will win Family Entertainment Packs that include movie theatre tickets and snacks for a family of five.
“We are inviting the community to the park for a fun night with a family-friendly movie, and for a good cause,” said BCFS-Del Rio Director of Community Services Delia Ramos. “The donated food will go toward helping survivors of family violence in our Domestic Violence Del Rio program.”
Several of BCFS-Del Rio’s community partners will donate helpful items for the event, like a popcorn machine from AVANCE and a screen and movie projector from the Whitehead Memorial Museum. Greenwood Park is located along Greenwood, Garfield and Griner Streets in Del Rio.
BCFS Health and Human Services-Del Rio provides free counseling and crisis intervention through the Services to At Risk Youth (STAR) program, and domestic violence treatment and prevention through the Del Rio Domestic Violence (DRDV) program. BCFS-Del Rio’s domestic violence hotline is available around the clock at (830) 768-2755.
