UW is a nonprofit that raises money for other nonprofit agencies in the county. We raise funds from our local businesses and all the money is distributed to these agencies. The board interviews these agencies and based on their presentation, the board allocates the donation. We help organizations that range from Child Safety to Child Welfare, Arts, Childcare, and even Friends of Del Rio Animals, the Literary Center from the Library, Education Programs, etc.

United Way is a huge organization across the nation but the money raised here stays here in Del Rio to support our local organizations. People who are not part of a business can donate individually by contacting us by email, phone or online at www.uwvalverde.org besides donations people can also help with volunteering as well. The more we invest in the community, the more we get back to the community, and then we’ll have a stronger community.

The Val Verde Regional Medical Center has been a very loyal supporter of United Way, last year they helped raise a big donation for out campaign. This year the goal is to make $120,500 in donations. UW serves a really big section in DR” commented Mrs. Robin.
