DEL RIO – Four people were arrested and are facing charges of drug possession and damages to a hotel room, in connection with a fight taking place on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Ranch Motel, in Del Rio, Texas.

Monica Hernandez, 25-years-of-age; Wendy Ramirez, 25; Hector Sanchez, 24, and Javier Jesus Martinez, 30-years-of-age, were arrested and charged with possession of controlled substances. Martinez is also facing charges for criminal mischief.

According to police reports, a fight was reported at 3:14 p.m. in a room at the Ranch Motel on the 1300 block of E Gibbs Street. The fight spilled over to the parking lot, and before the police arrived the party jumped into a green pickup truck and took off.

A description of the 1996 Chevy pickup was given to police officers. The vehicle was found around the corner, near the intersection of Bedell and 1st St., and a traffic stop ensued. Upon a search of the people involved, drug paraphernalia was found in one of the subjects.

The search continued into the vehicle where police officers located .2 grams of a substance that field tested positive for crystal meth, and .4 grams of alleged methamphetamine.

Back in the hotel the TV was found damaged, prompting the criminal mischief charges.

All were taken into custody and the case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
